Water Efficiency Calculations Part G

Since 6th April, 2010 all new Residential Properties and Conversions must meet the Government's specific water efficiency targets associated with Part G of the Building Regulations (Sanitation, hot water safety and water efficiency) and The Code for Sustainable Homes.

What are Water Efficiency calcuations?

Put simply, you now are required to demonstrate that the water usage of your domestic dwelling is no more than 125 litres per person per day to obtain a favourable SAP rating.

The calculations must be in accordance with the methodology set out by the Government in the document " The Water Efficiency Calculator for New Dwellings." Water Efficiency Calculations are required both at design and as-built stages and must be submitted to the Relevant Building Control Authority.
